Platform Billing

IP Renewal Desk uses a simple usage-based pricing model. There are no monthly subscriptions or per-user charges — you pay only when you process renewals.

How Pricing Works

IP Renewal Desk charges a 5% commission on the professional fee component of each processed renewal instruction. This charge is applied when you click "Process" on a client instruction.

Example

If a renewal has a professional fee of $500 and an official fee of $200:

  • Platform charge: 5% of $500 = $25
  • Official fees are never charged — they are pass-through costs.

No charges for

  • Adding matters or contacts.
  • Sending reminders.
  • Client instructions that are cancelled (not processed).
  • Abandon instructions (no professional fee charged).

Payment Card on File

You must have a valid payment card on file to use certain features. Add or update your card in Settings → Billing.

The card details displayed are:

  • Card brand (Visa, Mastercard, etc.)
  • Last 4 digits
  • Expiry date

You can remove the card and add a new one at any time.

Card required for auto-send

If no valid card is on file, auto-send reminders will be paused and you will see a warning on the overview dashboard. Manual sending of reminders still works.

Platform Invoices

Monthly usage charges are invoiced automatically. View your last 24 platform invoices in Settings → Billing, showing:

  • Billing period
  • Total amount charged
  • Payment status (paid, pending, failed)
  • PDF download link

Account Status

Your platform account can be in one of three states:

  • Active — all features available, card valid, payments up to date.
  • Delinquent — a payment has failed. You can still use the platform, but auto-send is paused until the outstanding balance is cleared.
  • Suspended — prolonged non-payment. Auto-send and reminder processing are blocked. Update your card and clear the balance to restore access.
